New Nordic-Inspired Venue Kota Opens in Harrogate with Summer Events Programme
A brand-new Nordic-inspired events venue has opened in Harrogate, offering a unique destination for food, drink and entertainment this summer.
Cedar Court Harrogate has officially unveiled Kota, a hidden events space inspired by the traditional Finnish shelter where people gather around a fire to socialise, relax and share experiences.
Nestled within the hotel’s landscaped gardens overlooking the Stray, Kota combines Scandinavian design influences with warm Yorkshire hospitality, creating an inviting setting for everything from private celebrations and corporate events to casual social gatherings.
Pronounced ‘Koh-tah’, the new venue has been designed as a welcoming retreat where guests can enjoy great food, live music and memorable experiences in a relaxed outdoor setting.
New Summer Venue Launches in Harrogate
The launch comes as Harrogate prepares for a busy summer season, with the new venue introducing a packed programme of events aimed at both residents and visitors.
To celebrate its opening, Kota will host a series of themed events throughout the coming months, including:
- Tapas Nights
- Bottomless Brunches
- Pizza & Prosecco evenings
- Mediterranean Mezze socials
- Live Comedy Night
- Yorkshire Show-inspired dining experiences
- Live acoustic music performances
The venue’s secluded location and distinctive Nordic-inspired design offer something different within Harrogate’s growing hospitality scene.
Overlooking the Stray
Located within the grounds of Cedar Court Harrogate, Kota enjoys views across the Stray, one of the town’s most iconic green spaces.
The venue has been created to provide a versatile space that can be used throughout the year, offering visitors a cosy atmosphere inspired by traditional Finnish gathering places while embracing modern dining and entertainment experiences.
As demand continues to grow for unique event venues in Harrogate, Kota is expected to become a popular destination for locals, visitors, celebrations and special occasions.
With a full calendar of summer events, live music and food experiences planned, the new venue is set to add an exciting new dimension to Harrogate’s hospitality and events offering.
Why Kota Could Become One of Harrogate’s Must-Visit Summer Venues
The combination of a unique Nordic theme, garden setting overlooking the Stray, live entertainment and themed dining events makes Kota one of the most distinctive new openings in Harrogate this year.
For those looking for a new place to meet friends, celebrate special occasions or enjoy summer dining experiences in Harrogate, Kota promises a fresh take on social gatherings in the heart of North Yorkshire.

Free pizza for 3,000 people” — Rudy’s reveals opening date for new Harrogate restaurant
A hugely popular pizza brand is about to land in Harrogate — and it’s giving away thousands of free pizzas to celebrate.
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana has confirmed it will open its new restaurant on Saturday, April 11, taking over the former Banyan Bar and Restaurant on John Street.
The launch is already generating major buzz, thanks in part to its “Pizza on Us” event, which will see 3,000 free pizzas handed out to early visitors.
Inside, the new venue will seat around 120 diners, with space for another 35 outside — bringing a taste of authentic Neapolitan pizza to the heart of Harrogate.
Neal Bates of Rudy’s said the response so far has exceeded expectations.
“We’re really excited for our Harrogate launch and have been delighted by the reaction,” he said.
“Whether you’re one of the lucky 3,000 joining us for free pizza, attending our charity evening with the Harrogate Homeless Project, or just coming along to try us for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you.”
As part of opening celebrations, the restaurant will also host a special charity night, with all profits going to the Harrogate Homeless Project.
Founded in Manchester in 2015, Rudy’s has grown rapidly into one of the UK’s best-known pizza brands, with 36 locations nationwide — and Harrogate is next.
