Work that was carried out at Mother Shipton's Cave has been declared essential repairs.
After an investigation was carried out following concerns from residents and a town councillor over what they described as major works at the site. A planning inspector has visited the tourist attraction and deemed the works permissible.
An investigation into alleged planning breaches at England’s oldest visitor attraction has found the works do not breach planning requirements.
Harrogate Borough Council said: We found the works being carried out are repairs and maintenance required as a consequence of flooding earlier this year.
