The UCI Road World Championships took place in Harrogate in September 2019.
It used part of the town's 200-acre (80 hectares) Stray for spectators, but heavy rain left the area badly damaged. The council said organisers would contribute £35,500 towards the repair costs. An extra £95,000 of council cash will be spent on upgrades. It was hoped work would begin this week and would be completed by September.
In addition to restoring the grassed area, pavements and footpaths, the council had decided to also fix what it said were "long-standing" drainage issues in the area.
The Final Total is
£38,105 for repairs to grassed areas of West Park Stray (including a contribution of £35,500 from Yorkshire 2019)
£65,385 for pavement, footpaths, fencing, bedding and verge repairs, reinstatement of bins and benches
£20,156 to fix long-standing drainage issues
£6,325 in project management and delivery costs.
