Harrogate Homeless Project

Harrogate Homeless Project provides people experiencing homelessness with a safe place to stay and the support they need to build confidence and move towards independent living.

Our Springboard Day Centre provides food, shower and washing facilities, skills workshops, activities, psychotherapy, GP and other medical and therapeutic services. Our staff are on hand to offer people support with their housing situation and practical help with applications and access to other services.

Our No Second Night Out overnight accommodation has 5 emergency bunk beds. It offers a place of safety, and somewhere where people experiencing homelessness can have their needs assessed. We give advice, guidance and support in avoiding a rough sleeping lifestyle and the offer of sustainable accommodation through our resettlement pathway.

Our hostel on Bower Street can accommodate up to 16 individuals in single rooms. As the only direct access hostel in the Harrogate District, we accept referrals from Harrogate Borough Council as well as self-referrals from individuals in need of accommodation. Each resident is allocated a designated support worker who works alongside the resident towards achieving appropriate move on accommodation.

Our move-on accommodation enables us to provide extended support where an individual is not yet ready to move on to fully independent accommodation. We have a 3 bed house in Harrogate and 8 self-contained flats as part of our pathway from homelessness to independent living.  Residents are allocated a support worker and are able to live semi-independently knowing that a member of staff is close by should they be needed.

We employ a Psychotherapist who is able to provide a flexible, innovative therapy service for clients of HHP services. This is a vital element of the services we offer as many of the clients using our services have multiple complex needs and the waiting lists and criteria for mainstream services is a barrier to these people receiving the support they need.
