The Club trains at Ripon Grammar School on Wednesday evenings from 8 pm. £5 per session–pay as you play. Great way to meet people and get fit. This is a totally inclusive club - all ages and abilities welcome. No experience necessary – if you enjoyed netball at school (or even if you didn’t) come along and give us a try.
The Ripon City Netball Club’s committee was determined that their awards evening would go ahead this year despite COVID restrictions. “This is normally the biggest social event on the RCNC calendar” said social secretary Nicola Lymer but this year a more low key celebration took place with only the award winners invited to attend a socially distanced presentation outside at Ripon Grammar School where the club trains. There are currently five teams who play in three different leagues in Harrogate, Hambleton and the North Yorkshire Ambassador League for the club’s flagship team, Falcons. Each team – named after beautiful birds of prey - has three trophies for Most Improved Player, Coach’s Player and Players’ Player. Each set of shields is sponsored by a different local business. Business: Harrogate Phoenix Netball Club
Location: Harrogate North Yorkshire
Harrogate Phoenix Netball Club was formed in July 2006, amalgamating several successful Harrogate teams – Ringers, Phoenix and Scorpions. Since forming, the Club has gone from strength to strength at both senior and junior levels. We compete at local, County and Regional levels, in the Harrogate, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Yorkshire Regional Leagues.
Our teams range from competitive, enthusiastic and passionate players, able to compete at Regional and County level, through to “social” friendly, yet competitive squads. We also offer beginners and returners the opportunity to get back into the sport and be part of a friendly Club, as well as providing our younger players a smooth transition from youth to adult netball.
Our players receive regular skills training from qualified coaches and all our members are encouraged to develop their umpiring and coaching skills or become involved with the management of our teams.
We very much welcome players and parents getting involved in the club as volunteers whether it be scoring on game day to becoming an umpire.
We hold the Bronze and Silver CAPS accreditations from England Netball, and have been awarded ClubMark status.
